Abstract

Seeds of Williamsonia collected from Amarjola in the Rajmahal Hills, Bihar, are described. Mature seeds are found in ripe, naked, bractless fructifications. Seeds are oblong or ovate, stalked, dicotyledonous, partially endospermic, and have long micropyles. The seed coat is differentiated into an outer covering of tubular cells, middle parenchymatous true integument, and an inner vascularized layer which forms after fertilization and as a result of modification of the peripheral portion of nucellus.
