Abstract

The paper discusses immorality as the bane of development in Nigerian society. Education is the key for morality. It also creates room for different workforce and morally upright individuals that will be fit to compete and work together globally which will bring progress in all spheres of life in our society. Moral Education is an instrument of National development. This paper recommends among others that moral instructions should be taught at all levels of our educational system as a compulsory subject. All stakeholders in education and social institutions should lay more emphasis on moral upbringing in advancing moral education particularly in the process of the Nigeria youths‟ process of character development. The paper also establishes the need for policies and programmes that recognizes and compensate good character development among the Nigeria youths If the entire society is morally upright, vices of different types will reduce and peace and harmony will abide where all round development will be experienced by all and sundry.
