Lipoma, a benign neoplasm of adipose tissue, is a common tumor found almost anywhere on the body. In the oral cavity, lipoma commonly occurs in the cheek and the tongue. But rarely in the lower lip.We have experienced one case of lipoma in the left lower lip of a 53-year-old woman. The gross specimen consisted of a single piece of tissue measurig about 1.9×2.3×1.4cm. The cut surface revealed a well circumscribed, bright yellow, fatty lesion. Histopathologic examination showed a sharply demarcated prolife ration of adipose tissue with scant stroma. The prognosis is fairly good after surgical treatment and there is no recurrence after 8 months.
