Abstract

The National Homelessness Strategy (NHS) is a broad based approach to dealing with homelessness among Australians. The Strategy provides input to the development of new programs and ensures that optimum outcomes are delivered through existing initiatives. The NHS works through the Commonwealth Advisory Committee on Homelessness, NHS Demonstration projects and the Family Homelessness Prevention Pilots and through liaison with the various Australian government programs which provide services and support to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
