Abstract

Ultrasonography has been used in cl inical f ields because of its mer its , such as convenience , noninvasi ve ness and abse nce of radi ati on hazard. With improve me nt of ultrasonographic technology , diagnostic accuracy is increased in detecting gallstone.Autho rs performed 4 1 cases of cholecystoso nography and compared with surgica l a nd pathological find in gs.The results a re as fo llows :1. Demonstration of ga llbladd er is acco mplished in 40 cases ou t of 41 cases.(97 .5 %).2. Gallstone detection rate is 92.5 %.Fa lse positive rate is 5% and fa lse negati ve 2.5%.lncluding one case which turned o ut C. B.D. stone of fa lse positive detection rate re ac hes 95 %.3. Diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonograph y in 17 cases of non visua li zation and faint visua li zation in oral cho lecystog ra m is 100%.4. Ultrasonography is esse nti al and highl y accurate diagnostic tool in nonvisualized G.B. , obstructive jaundi ce , iod in e sensitive a nd emergency and ser iously ill patients.
