Abstract
The types of Roveacrinus alatus, R. communis, and R. rugosus, all of Douglas, are redescribed and reillustrated. A new generic name, Styracocrinus, is proposed for those crinoids formerly referred to Drepanocrinus peracutus Peck, and the new subfamily name Styracocrininae is substituted for Drepanocrininae. Three new species are established and are referred to the genera Roveacrinus, Discocrinus, and Orthogonocrinus. European Roveacrinidae range from the Cenomanian to the Danian (i.e., through the Upper Cretaceous) but only a few specimens have been found in rocks younger than Santonian. Three species, S. peracutus Peck, 0. apertus Peck, and R. alatus Douglas are known from both Europe and the United States.
