Abstract

An integrated TE-pass polarizer is proposed, consisting of series of waveguide bends introducing high loss for TM light. Simulations predict 28dB extinction over 90nm bandwidth with 1.5dB insertion loss. The fabricated device shows better than 20dB extinction over 50nm with 1-2dB insertion loss.
