Abstract

This chapter discusses the contributions of Vladimir Abramovich Neiman Nikolsky and Maring to the Chinese Communists movements at the time the CCP was experiencing a financial crisis. The CCP announced its formation in November 1920 with the composition of the “Chinese Communist Party Manifesto” and its publication in the inaugural issue of Gongchandang. However, soon after the announcement, most of its party activities were curtailed due to lack of funds. In response, the Comintern sent Maring (also known as Hendricus J. F. M. Sneevliet) and Vladimir Abramovich Neiman Nikolsky to China as the new representatives in place of Voitinsky. The two suggested to the CCP that a party congress should convene to settle the matter immediately.
