Abstract

During the last few decades, a new class of nonoverlapping and overlapping Schwarz methods was developed for PDEs, namely the optimized Schwarz methods (OSM). These methods are based on a classical domain decomposition, but they use more effective transmission conditions than the classical Dirichlet conditions at the interfaces between subdomains.
