Abstract

The present experiment has been carried out to study the effects of different kinds and concentrations of plant growth regulators(combination) on quality and yield of Chinese yam(Dioscorea opposita Thunb.) in South China. The growth regulators CCC(Chlormequat Chloride) and CC(Choline Chloride)+NAA(Naphthalene Acetic Acid) were selected in the experiment using variety Guihuai 2 as the control material. The results showed that the yield of Chinese yam treated by CCC 2250 mg/L reached the highest(33255.15 kg/ha),which was 15.20% and 13.22% higher than that of CK and the treatment sprayed only with 0.15% KH2PO4,respectively.Spraying CCC(2250 mg/L) was helpful for raising dry matter content, yield, content of water-soluble extractive,alcohol-soluble extractive and starch of fresh tuber, and it also could maintain higher content of protein and pledge good edible quality and flavor of the tuber, while the effects on soluble sugar and taste quality was not significantly.
