Abstract
Architectural and archaeological fieldwork has delimited three residential plan-units along the main ridge axes of the city. Overall, they conform to the inka planning canons determined in chapter 3. Each has a network of well-planned, straight streets and kancha with arrangements of domestic buildings within them, although each plan-unit is distinctive. However, each major street-block within plan-unit II has a slightly different kancha size. One of the latter, the sub-unit A, Hatunkancha, is walled with only one entrance and has a totally different internal plan. There are rows of individual buildings and a larger patio, flanked by two kallanka. This was associated with the aqllawasi and compares archaeologically to a similar compound in Huánuco Pampa.
