Abstract
This book is about the philosophy of economics. Many readers will therefore be surprised to find that, after the first chapter, it will not seem to explicitly discuss much philosophy, but will describe the structures of theories and models in economics and in two neighboring disciplines, psychology and sociology. The purpose of this opening chapter is to explain why in my view that is how the philosophy of any science, including therefore the philosophy of economics, should be done. The reader should be alerted to the fact that this view of mine rests on a conception of philosophy that most philosophers do not share. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
