Abstract
By the 1850s, P.T. Barnum's fame was so great that any innovation in marketing was called “Barnumism” and any well-promoted business was considered “Barnumized.” This chapter indicates that Barnum created new, wild, imaginative ways to increase his business. According to Barnum's rings of power, one must remember that there is a customer born every minute and one should go after them. To stand out in the crowd, one must do something different like holding an event, sponsoring a contest, etc. One must know the value of publicity. He/she must also advertise relentlessly. Hiring good people, treating them with respect and paying them will also help. One should learn to utilize the power of pen. If a person negotiates fairly, he/she can make better deals with employees, vendors or customers and in return they will make that person happy. Barnum's idea was to create a speech about real benefits to people and have faith.
