Abstract

TEMPERATE DECIDUOUS FORESTS (TDFs) Temperate deciduous forests are characterized by their broadleaved trees, which shed their leaves in autumn (the fall) and form new foliage, or flush, in the following spring. The TDFs are principally located in four regions of the world. • Eastern North America; here the forest extends from 30°N latitude in the south to 45°N latitude in the north, and inland from the east coast to longitude around 95°W.
