Abstract
Abstract Opioids may cause CNS, GI, autonomic and cutaneous adverse effects. Adverse effects must be differentiated from comorbid conditions and drug interactions. Opioid adverse effects may be treated by decreasing dose of opioids, opioid switching, changing the route of administration and/or symptomatic management. Opioid toxicity must be screened for and treated without delay.
