Abstract
The present diploma thesis studies the toponymy of the province of Seville. Whole work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part firstly deals with the science of onomastics and its division into the toponymy and the anthroponymy. These disciplines are described in the following chapters. Then are presented three classifications of toponyms, crucial for the practical part. In the practical part there is analysed a corpus of 105 sevillian toponyms with regard to its origin and sense.
