Abstract
There are many causes of abdominal distension in children. Those related to the liver are due to either ascites, malignancy or hepatomegaly. This chapter provides a suggestion of useful investigations in such a child. The management of ascites is described and more in depth information regarding malignancy of the liver and lysosomal storage diseases.
