Abstract

This chapter describes the hot big-bang cosmology in a nutshell. The universe is treated as a uniform perfect fluid obeying the Friedmann equation and thermodynamical formulas. Cosmic events including leptogenesis, neutrino decoupling, BBN (big-bang nucleosynthesis), and recombination are explained. The inflation model is introduced to solve some conceptual difficulties of the big-bang cosmology. Chapters 8 and 9 serve readers to prepare for tackling the dark matter and the dark energy problems.
