Discussion of Qualitative Interviewing

This concluding chapter sums up the topics discussed in the book. It first presents some points of criticism that are often raised against qualitative interviewing. Some of these are raised from people outside the world of qualitative research as such, while others are raised by insiders to qualitative inquiry. The chapter then discusses different strategies for evaluating qualitative interview research. How should readers of interview studies assess what they read? Is it possible to articulate criteria for quality in relation to interviewing, and if so, which ones are relevant?
