Abstract

(a) Define and discuss the ways by which the speed of a highway traffic stream may be described. (b) The following observations of the speed of a highway traffic stream were obtained using a radar speed meter. Determine the distributions of speeds in time and in space, the time and space mean speeds and illustrate the relationship between time and space mean speed.
