Perspectives for Using the Internet on Behalf of Girls and Young Women: The Case of the Statutory Minimum Wage

A main part of the Decisions for Life project included the launching of websites with work-related information in the 14 countries. The pages providing information on the statutory minimum wages were among the most popular. This chapter therefore focuses on the case of information dissemination concerning the statutory minimum wage. The level of statutory minimum wages, their potential to reduce women’s vulnerability to low pay, their employment effects and their effects on income distribution are discussed. The chapter ends with the role of the WageIndicator websites in enforcing minimum wages. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
