Abstract

Approximately 4 000 hippoboscid flies were examined for mites. Four hundred ninety mites were found on 129 flies. The mites belonged to 12 families, 17 genera and 31 species. There are 62 new mite/fly host records, 71 new mite/bird host records, and 55 new mites/country distibution records.
