Abstract

Abstract Distinguishes between ontological, semantical, epistemological, axiological, methodological, and ethical realism. Another distinction, related to worldview, is between realism within common sense, science, and metaphysics. These distinctions help us to give a tree‐form classification of realist views and their most important alternatives. A methodological comparison is made between critical realism and philosophical naturalism.
