Abstract
This committee report, Pressure Pipeline Design for Water and Wastewater, is a revision of the 1975 ASCE publication Pipeline Design for Water and Wastewater. This committee report presents updated information on all aspects of transporting fluids through pipelines such as: 1) Accepted flow formulas, 2) surge control in pumped pipelines, 3) main pipeline design, 4) pipe materials, and 5) pipeline economics. In addition, a new section on seismic design prepared by the ASCE Technical Council on Lifeline Earthquake Engineering, Water and Sewage Committee, was added. This report will be of assistance to engineers who are occasionally concerned with pipeline design as well as the specialists in pipeline design.
