Abstract
Most of the writers considered above are concerned in their analyses as much with the future as with the present. It may therefore seem rather arbitrary to single out one particular future projection. The justification for looking separately, though still briefly, at Kahn and Wiener’s book The Year 2000 is that it attempts to construct a consistent framework for thinking about the future.219 This is not science, but it is the best-known attempt at system.
