Abstract
This paper presents the link budget calculations for Free Space Optical (FSO) communication systemunder diverse weather conditions. It discusses various factors involved in the medium between the transmitter andreceiver, which affect link budget calculations. For free space optical communication, atmospheric losses are thedominating factor in the link budget. These losses should be catered in such a way that sufficient power is availableat the receiver to retrieve the information. It also describes the limitations of free space optical system underadverse weather conditions.
