Environmental Quality and Economic Development: An Application of Evironmental Kuznets Curve to China

Abstract

In China, environmental quality and economic development have become the central issue for sustainable development. This paper adopts the theory of environmental Kuznets curve to research on this issue, including theoretical analysis and empirical application. The results show that it is necessary for Chinese government to implement the environmental protection policies.
