Abstract
Because of the doubt that exists regarding the role of .platelet aggregation in thrombosis, it is speculated that platelet disaggregation may be a more important aspect to observe. This study indicates that it is possible to influence platelet disaggregation independent of the rate of aggregation and the extent of aggregation. It is proposed that platelet disaggregation may well play a greater role in the formation of thrombi and that attention should be drawn to further investigation of this aspect, and of substances which accelerate platelet disaggregation.
