Abstract
Nutrition information panels can provide consumers with information they need and want to know about the food they eat. Surveys have indicated that consumers are in favour of nutrition information but do not necessarily use or understand it. Current food legislation requires labelling per 100g; labelling on a per serve basis may be more appropriate for some foods. To simplify nutrition labelling and improve its effectiveness some changes to current regulations are suggested
