Abstract

Wine is the fermented juice of certain varieties of grapes. The quality of a particular wine is controlled by (1) the geographical location of the vineyard, (2) the variety of vine and its method of cultivation, (3) the nature of the soil in which the vine is grown, (4) the climate of the region and the weather during the growing season, (5) the method of fermentation and maturation of the grape juice, or must, and (6) the skill of the winemaker.
