Abstract
Recently, new nonlinear optical crystals, such as urea1 and beta-barium borate2 (β-BaB2O4), have revived an interest in widely-tunable, visible optical parametric devices based on these crystals. This paper reports on the first demonstration of optical parametric oscillation in a |3-BaB204 crystal pumped by an ultraviolet excimer laser.
