Abstract

Numbers of treated carcinoma of the corpus uteri and ratio of cases of carcinoma of the corpus uteri to those of the cervix uteri in main clinics in Japan were increased about twice during 15 years from 1964 to 1978. In spite of the fact that the incidence of carcinoma of the corpus uteri has increased in recent years, it is only about 10% of that of carcinoma of the cervix uteri. It is therefore expected that mass screening for carcinoma of the corpus uteri can be performed in a efficient way. With regard to means of screening for carcinoma of the corpus uteri, cytology was evaluated to be an excellent one.
