Abstract

In this short paper, I shall not emphasize specific failings of the pharmaceutical industry; little would be achieved in trying to do so. Instead, I have premised the arguments in this paper on what I think would be three main points of agreement. The first is that the pharmaceutical industry does have failings; the second is that it is subject to a good deal of criticism, and the third is that the industry does not seem to be able to handle this criticism very well.
