Abstract
In existing researches, there are few references about the effect of rainfall patterns on seepage characteristics and stability of slope. In this study, The four representative rainfall patterns including uniform, delayed, advanced and central ones were be taken as study objects to examine the influence of rainfall patter on the seepage characteristics and the stability of slope. Based on the saturated-unsaturated seepage theory and using the FEM method to examine the effect of different rainfall patterns on water content and pore water pressure in the slope. And then, combined the transient infiltration field with the rigid equilibrium limit method to examine the effect of the rainfall patterns on slope stability. The result show, when the rainfall and the rain time is the same, different rainfall patterns result in different distribution of water content and pore water pressure in the slope, and also the different value of safety factor of slope. The influence of rainfall patterns on the transient infiltration field and slope stability weren’t be ignored.
