Abstract
AIM: To study diagnostic potential of MR imaging (MRI) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Clinical-radiation and MRI examinations of the joints were performed in 110 patients. RESULTS: MRI symptoms of RA were determined including accumulation of liquid in the joint cavity, degeneration of the joint cartilage, meniscus, ligaments, proliferation of synovial coating, destructive changes in bone epiphysis. CONCLUSION: Comparative analysis of x-ray and MRI results showed advantages of MRI in detection of inflammatory changes in soft-tissue structures of the joints in RA.
