Abstract

The authors summarize the experience gained in microsurgical treatment of ophthalmic segment aneurysms in the internal carotid artery at the N. N. Burdenko Institute of Neurosurgery during the past 10 years. The paper analyzes clinical data on 110 patients with arterial aneurysms of the ophthalmic segment of the internal carotid artery, of whom 50 have undergone microsurgery. A classification of ophthalmic segment aneurysms in the internal carotid artery and a differential choice of a surgical access to them are given in the paper.
