An Empirical Study of Shandong Province Regional Developing Differences in Modern Service Industry

We studied the modern service industry in Shandong province, and did a comprehensive analysis of the fundamental characteristics and its status of the modern service industry. We also built an evaluation index system for it, compared the service industry development among 17 administrative areas in Shandong province using factor analysis, and applied clustering analysis to the study of the differences. Our studies showed that there exist significant differences, the space distribution is uneven and has different levels, and the levels of the modern service industry decrease gradually. We also proposed some constructive suggestions to further improving the development of regional modern service industry in Shandong province.
