Abstract

A broad, shallow Deaver retractor has been modified by providing 2 inch parallel slits, one-eighth of an inch from the edges of the curved retracting position. These slits allow the edge of a Kelly retractor to lock the Deaver retractor in place, so that the assistant can maintain exposure with one hand
