Abstract
The relationship of emerging clinical pharmacy practice to the pharmaceutical industry is discussed with reference to the professional image which pharmacists present to others acceptance of the pharmacist as an individual providing health-related services and the heed for communication of the changes in pharmacy practice. The development of the pharmaceutical industry is discussed as an outgrowth from the profession of pharmacy, along with the problems presented by acceptance of changing roles. A number of comments are reported from industry executives as they view the effect of clinical pharmacy on the pharmaceutical industry.
