Early discovery of the torsion and orchiopexy resulted in near normal growth of the affected testicle in 1 patient at 1-year followup. Recommendations for surgical management of torsion and treatment of the uninvolved testicle in unilateral cases are discussed. © 1983 by The American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited byPinto K, Noe H and Jerkins G (2018) Management of Neonatal Testicular TorsionJournal of Urology, VOL. 158, NO. 3, (1196-1197), Online publication date: 1-Sep-1997.Barca P, Dargallo T, Jardon J, Estevez E, Bautista A and Varela Cives R (2018) BILATERAL TESTICULAR TORSION IN THE NEONATAL PERIODJournal of Urology, VOL. 158, NO. 5, (1957-1959), Online publication date: 1-Nov-1997.Tripp B and Homsy Y (2018) Prenatal Diagnosis of Bilateral Neonatal Torsion: A Case ReportJournal of Urology, VOL. 153, NO. 6, (1990-1991), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1995.Penson D and Aronson W (2018) Segmental Testicular Infarction in the Neonate: A Case ReportJournal of Urology, VOL. 153, NO. 6, (1992-1993), Online publication date: 1-Jun-1995.Stone K, Kass E, Cacciarelli A, Gibson D and Noe H (2018) Pediatric Urology: Management of Suspected Antenatal TorsionJournal of Urology, VOL. 153, NO. 3, (782-784), Online publication date: 1-Mar-1995.Brandt M, Sheldon C, Wacksman J and Matthews P (2018) Prenatal Testicular Torsion: Principles of ManagementJournal of Urology, VOL. 147, NO. 3 Part 1, (670-672), Online publication date: 1-Mar-1992.Das S and Singer A (2018) Controversies of Perinatal Torsion of the Spermatic Cord: A Review, Survey and RecommendationsJournal of Urology, VOL. 143, NO. 2, (231-233), Online publication date: 1-Feb-1990.LaQuaglia M, Bauer S, Eraklis A, Feins N and Mandell J (2018) Bilateral Neonatal TorsionJournal of Urology, VOL. 138, NO. 4 Part 2, (1051-1054), Online publication date: 1-Oct-1987.Kaufman J (2018) Torsion of the Spermatic Cord in the Postnatal PeriodJournal of Urology, VOL. 131, NO. 2, (351-352), Online publication date: 1-Feb-1984.Belman A (2018) Editorial CommentJournal of Urology, VOL. 131, NO. 2, (352-352), Online publication date: 1-Feb-1984.Heaton J and Morales A (2018) Epididymal Lymphoma: An Unusual Scrotal MassJournal of Urology, VOL. 131, NO. 2, (353-354), Online publication date: 1-Feb-1984.
