[Drainage in surgery].

The problem of drainage in surgery, although as old as surgery, is still up-to-date and deserves the exchange of experiences. Neither the gigantic steps, by which surgery has advanced, nor the doscovery of possible antibiotics haven't much changed the comprechension of the valadities of drainage operations. The opinions of some indications for drainage haven't been reconsiled, but they are not equalized, and often are opposing. There are mostly contradictory opinions about ;the drainage of abdomen. In recent times the indications have been changed and the way of performing drainage has been emproved, and on the basis of reviwing the literature and of our experience, the prevailing opinion that the adequate performed drainage with a constant control offers enormous possibilities, both in the prevention, and in the therapy of complications.
