Abstract

This Romanian Decree-Law repeals Decree No. 77/1966, which placed restrictions on the performance of abortions, and Articles 185-188 of the Penal Code, the section of the Code dealing with abortion. This Decree-Law was one of the 1st laws passed by the new Romanian government after the overthrow of the regime headed by Nicolae Ceausescu. As a result, the Penal Code no longer contains any provisions on abortion.
