Abstract
This paper presents an ultra-wideband coplanar waveguide-fed-coplanar strips square-spiral antenna that operates in the frequency band 4-10 GHz. This antenna is easy to design and yields at least a 50% reduction in size as compared with other available UWB spiral antennas. A matching resistor is placed at the end of the spiral to yield better than 10 dB return loss over the operating frequency band. The antenna yields circular polarization at boresight in the frequency range 6.6-7 GHz. This frequency range will be optimized in the final design and factors that affect it will be determined.
