Abstract

Air traffic controller training is a basic requirement for provision of air traffic control and management to achieve safe, orderly and expeditious air traffic. Air traffic controller training is based on the minimum requirements defined by the relevant regulations and provided in the certified training centers. Models of air traffic controller training differ from state to state and are usually carried out through the course of several months and started by the request of the users. This paper analyzes current model of air traffic controller education which was implemented at the 3-year undergraduate study of aeronautics, module air traffic control at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences and presents a new model of educating air traffic controllers developed in cooperation with Croatia Control ltd. Benefits of the new model will be defined.
