[Clozapine in the treatment of refractory rapid cycling bipolar disorder].

Abstract
A 42 years old man suffering from bipolar disorder I with rapid cycling, unresponsive to conventional therapy, was successfully treated with clozapine. The plasma clozapine levels were monitored. This case suggests that clozapine could be efficient in treating mania and preventing relapse in affective disorders. The plasma concentration of clozapine is discussed.
