Abstract

Stool specimens from 93 cases of antibiotic-associated colitis and colitis with or without pseudo membranes were examined to detect the presence of Clostridium difficile. Out of 93 specimens, 21 (22.6%) showed the presence of C. difficile. Presence of C. difficile toxin was demonstrated by countercurrent iImmunoelectrophoresis in 15 patients.
