Abstract

The flowering of the quantitative long-day plant perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) in short days (8 h), when grown at low temperature (9/4 °C) and under natural summer daylight, is presented as evidence for the replacement of specific environmental requirements for flowering by alternative stimuli in a grass.
