Abstract

There was studied prostaglandins E concentration in bioptats of gastric mucosa in 158 patients with various forms and localization of chronic gastritis using a radioimmunological method. Chronic gastritis without atrophy and with mild atrophy showed to have decreased levels of prostaglandins E in comparison with the control. In the patients with atrophic gastritis with "reconstruction" of epithelium there was revealed an increase of prostaglandins concentration, which was maximal in the patients with atrophic-hyperplastic forms of the disease.
