Abstract

A study on allelopathy in Trifolium repens was conducted by the bioassays of mixed sowing and seedlings co-culture of T.repens and Lolium perenne,T.repens and Eragrostis curvula Seed germination of L.perenne and E.curvula was assessed by the extracts from roots,aerial parts and the fresh plant of T.repens.The results were depicted as the following: The extracts of all part in T.repens inhibited the plant growth of L.perenne and E.curvula at the rate of raw and 20fold solutions.In addition,the 100-fold extract prompted both receptors growth.The above results suggested that T.repens would influence the growth of L.perenne and E.curvula because of its allelopathic potential,.The most perfect ratio of seeds mixed sowing T.repens and L.perenne,T.repens and E.curvula was found as 5:1 shown in the mixed sowing test.
