Abstract

Abstract—ICPSR recently developed two new training initiatives in digital curation: a week-long applied data curation workshop where participants learn the theories and methods of data curation using the ICPSR “processing pipeline ” as framework, and an ongoing virtual working group of data librarians that discusses similar core data curation topics while giving participants independent access to curate their own data using ICPSR’s processing environment and tools. This paper discusses the background, structure, and lessons learned from these new training initiatives. Keywords—Digital curation, data curation, training, curriculum.
